The Truth About Me

Besides looming finals, this is the best time of the year. There's nothing like walkng down (enter location here) decked out in Christmas. Once again, the best kind of anticipation is upon us: the anticipation for Christmas.

so even though that commercial doesnt relate to Christmas, I've always associated Coca Cola with Christmas. Is it because Coca Cola has done so well in commercializing Christmas? And that I've been simply deluded like all of Coca Cola's other customers?

I know Christmas is all about the day Christ was born and all the love thats spread on this day. Don't get me wrong, im not belittling that at all. In fact im totally greatful. What a wonderful cause for celebration. But i have to admit im guilty of being one of those peopel who allow myself to be sucked in by all the holiday's extras. I secretly love all the materialistic aspects of Christmas too. Pretty malls, and shopping sprees, and Christmas lights and decorations, and food.....they all make me spazz spazz SPAZZ! I love it all...

I know. Im materialistic and i suck. What makes me so different than all those people who trampled over that poor man on black friday? When i heard about that, i thought "of course i would have stopped and saved him from the hordes of oncoming feet!" "im not THAT obsessed with ...STUFF" But the more i think about it....I dont think I'm so different from them afterall.

So sad. I guess we all have our weaknesses....and im working on mine.

Study! Work! Play!

Friday Monica came and slept over in my (and Juns) room. I hadnt seen her since week two and it made me sad so i told her to come over and play. We stayed up until 6:30am catching up on all sorts of things. It was such a nice change from hanging out with smelly boys all the time (figuratively speaking). Not saying theyre not cool and such, but its nice being able to say "its hot!" without someone replying "becuase I'm here."

Then some fellow san diegan friends visited on saturday and i must say, its nice seeing some familiar faces. Dierdre's and Diella's visit got me thinking about all the people i miss back home including my werido girls (plus Stan). Of course all this missing leads me to wondering how they are, which makes me totally psyched about seeing them (hopefully) friday. I can't WAIT to go home to San Diego and spending some quality time with the people I love....along with some turkey and holiday shopping (aka BLACK FRIDAY!) of course "turkey" translates to asain food in my house.

THen again a small part of the source of my excitement could have stemmed from the pileup of studying and work i have/am going to have to do. Schoolwork is such a pain right now. I cant get the holiday spirit and lazyness out of my system and i guess im paying for that now.

gahhh....study study study, work work work, play play play!!!

Now and Later

Things are looking busy for next quarter.

So I've planned out my schedule for next quarter after a suprisingly cordial visit to my counsler. I'll be taking math, writing, physics and woman studies. yes, woman studies. Nothing couldve prepared me to believe that I'd be taking that class, but i am. Jinwan persuaded me because not only does it fufill more than one category's requirements, but also because i'd have someone whos smart and friendly to help me in case i fail. (Not intentionally trying to boost jinwans ego in case he reads this...)

I hear writing is going to be a pain though. Not just from snippets of snide remarks about that class, but even my counsler warned me about it. So i have slim hopes that next quarters writing class will be as fun as my writing class now.
