Wow. i feel as if i havnt written in ages. Not just blogging too, i havnt been writing period. My journal has sat untouched since (glancing at my latest entry) June 19, 2008. I think the real reason behind this is because life is just going so darn well.
A few things that are happening/ have happened this summer before my entrance into the exciting world of college.
~bridge came and went. During her stay i attended summer school at miramar college. At first i was only taking stats 119, a class not by any means a requirement for me in order to pass anything. No, stats 119 was my moms idea of what would make me "not a complete failure" in college. Allow me to clarify. Since i am majoring in math, my mom felt it necessary that i take statistics to get a taste of it becuase i only took calculus throughout my high school career. So my first initial schock of the summer was that i found myself sitting in my statistic class, not quite believeing that my mom had yet again, forced me to do something against my own will. I SUPPOSE it's good for me. Perhaps i could thank her later. Another unfriendly surprise came when i discovered that i didnt pass my english placement exam. The things running through my head in the following order were: "NO FREAKING WAY" and "doesnt this mean I'm a retard cuz i didnt pass this test???" and "there must be some kind of mistake" and finally upon realizing the truth, "i'm soooo lame." So i crashed an english class as soon as possible. Anyways, the first half of my summer was spent at summer school. Surprisingly enough, summer school was pretty fun. My classes were butt easy and the nature of the classes themselves were pretty interactive. SOOO... first half of summer was quite eventful. Plus, i had Bridge to entertain me with her poop stories and our adventures like "fun at costco" or "fun at the $0.99 store."
~Also during Bridge's stay, i went to Six Flags, THE most magical mountain ever. It was fun. I introduced Bridge to strawberry shortcake ice cream on a stick and she entertained me with all sorts of (poop) stories, while we stood in the ridiculously loooooong lines. I think i experienced my very first heat stroke. I actually almost passed out from the heat. ALMOST. I was super close tho. Right before we climbed on to "The X" i couldnt breathe properly and i was seeing stars and things were starting to black out. I felt bad becuase we had already waited so long and we were in the front of the line! so, i went on it, and when i got off, surprisingly enough i felt much much MUCH better. But i made sure i was properly hydrated for the rest of the day.
~One place i visited over 10 times this summer was the UTC mall. Bridge and i actually went there, on average, 4-5 times a week. At first our main focus was to shop till we dropped dead on the floor. But Bridge soon became obsessed with getting a job at Hollister. We heart that store btw. Well, she got it....which meant several more visits to UTC. Good thing i didnt mind TOOO much :D
~The wonderful beach was like my home this summer. The fact taht i dont look quite that yellow anymore is proof. I WAS SAFE THOUGH! lots of sunscreen+hiding under my towel=lots of brown skin but no bright red pain, unlike some unfortunate people. I think by far, the best beach trip this summer was the reunion one with my lovely ladies + Stan from the Circle. THEY ARE BOMB! i say we have another one...but getting everyone together will be difficult now. ):
~I was able to spend time with Helen the H-bomb and Darius the D dog. (I dont think he knows that i call him that behind his back he he he). But yes i feel way too lucky have such an awesome soul sis numero uno and such an aweome soul significant other. They remind me count my blessings :D
So now that some of the exitement has died down with Bridge back in China and school starting up soon for some, im spending lots of free time catching up with just stuff. I went to a 2 day camp at my grandparents house. OK...not REALLY a camp. But i usually associate camp to staying overnight somewhere thats not my house. I went with my grandma to her yoga and tai chi classes. I didnt like tai chi as much, but yoga was super nice. I cant wait to do it again! Then my grandpa stuffed me with food from a buffet at night and dim sum the following afternoon. It was nice spending time with them. I was also able to brush up a little on my horrendous cantonese. Right before i left to go home and to go to fnf that night, my grandma took me to buy earrings. Kinda pricey, buttt :D soooo pretty! The way to a girls heart=pretty stuff. hahhahha. jk jk. And then yesterday night, i drove by myself to fnf for the first time!!!!! (which reminds me, another thing about this summer: i got my liscense!! finally!) It was QUITE exhilirating. :D
WELLLLL!!!! theres still about a month left of summer before taking the giant step into college for me. What to do?
